Sir Paul McCartney has come back to take legal action against Sony for the songs he had composed back in the day with John Lennon. In the 80’s McCartney was outbid by Michael Jackson for the songs.
These ended up being sold back by the star along with his shares in Sony/ATV. Sir Paul McCartney claimed that he wills to claim back the ownership on grounds of ‘copyright termination.
The claim was filed on Wednesday in America where copyright terminates after 56 years, unlike in the UK(70 years after artist’s death).
The Company has, reportedly, refused to respond to any of the multiple legal notices sent by McCartney’s Lawyers.
